The Mutations Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the Tianqi period of the latter part of Ming Dynasty, Chu Sijing ( performed in the role of Huang Xuan ),a member of the Jinyiwei family was ordered to travel to the city bordering Ningyuan to find out the reason of the typhoid outbreak.
There were numerous sensational stories concerning “monsters working” as well as “patients being sucked up by beasts” in the vicinity However, the authorities claimed that the typhoid fever was simply a normal fever, and not anything unusual.
In the journey from Ningyuan City to Ninghai Fort and finally up to Wumu Island, an isolated island by the sea.
