Tang Yao Intro

Tang Yao, born in Shandong Province, Jinan City. The school he attended was the Directing Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. 2007 was the year he worked as screenwriter for the first reality television show “Fashion Star”.

He was a screenwriter in the historical drama “The Shengtianmen Gate” (aka “Sheng Tian Men Kou”) that was released in the year 2011 and also the spy drama “Special Train No. 1” (2012).

However, Tang Yao is best known for his dramas such as “Memories of Love ” (2018), “Like a flowing River” (2018) and “Like a 2 Flowing River” (2020).

Tang Yao was recognised at the 2nd Screenplay Carnival “Annual Focus on Screenwriting for TV” (in the year 2018) and received an award for the show “Like a flowing river”.

He also won his Best Screenwriter (adaptation) award at the 25th Shanghai Television Festival – White Jade Award in 2019, for the same show.

He was nominated for the 13th Macau International Television Festival “Golden Lotus” (in 2022) in the category “The The Best Screenwriter Award” for his drama “Like a flowing river 2”.

His most recent works include “Raiders of the new way”, “Like a Flowing River 3”, “Return to Shenzhen” and “Jiang Nan Ri Mu” (aka “Jiangnan Rouge”).
