Liu Juan Plot

Liu Juan is a young female director from Chongqing. Her education includes the Department of Electronic Media Technology as well as in the Department of Management of Harbin Institute of Technology as well as in the Department of Photography of Beijing Film Academy. She excels at the art of photography as well as literary creation.

Liu Juan has won the Outstanding Graduate Award of the Department of Photography and the Young Director Program of the Youth Film Studio . As of 2009 Liu Juan graduated with an MA and worked as a documentary film director alongside Zhang Yimou for the productions ” Three Shots Surprise ” and “Under the Hawthorn Tree”.

The year 2013 saw Liu Juan, with the help of Andy Lau’s “Asian New Star Director” program, made the film she was preparing to release ” First Love ” and was awarded the Special Jury Award for Asian Newcomers at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival.
