Not a Big Deal Synopsis and Plot Summary
Wang Xiaoqing and Du Mantang were high school sweethearts. However, Zhang Zezhong took advantage of Wang Xiaoqing’s mother’s disapproval and joined the family. But, Zhang Zezhong married the daughter of the vice president for his future while Du Mantang got together with Wang Xiaoqing.
Zhang Zezhong, who was stuck with the powerful family, was hated by his family. He failed in his professional career and was all set to head south in order to establish a business.
He was not able to start his business and was able to only sell his home. To increase the price of his house, he invented the idea about a hidden treasure to be found beneath the house.
The price of the house was so high that it caused him to lose himself and seek out treasure. The home was nearly destroyed, and he walked away lonely. Thirty years later Du Mantang and Zhang Zezhong were alley stewards.
Zhang Zezhong planned to gain profit from the getting rid of commercialization in the alley but was severely impeded from Du Mantang. Therefore, Zhang Zezhong set his sights at Taibeile’s courtyard and occupied the bird’s nest under the name of an unincorporated joint venture.
Under the direction by Du Mantang, Wang Xiaoqing and others, the entire population were in sync to achieve a common goal. Zhang Zezhong was eventually imprisoned.
Zhang Ting, Zhang Zezhong’s daughter was begging and pleading, claiming that her father was gathering money to prevent her mother from allowing her to move abroad. Everyone was willing to be lenient, but Zhang Zezhong was still sentenced to three years of prison with a suspended sentence of five years.
