Go East Episode 1 About & Plot
Dayong is wealthy and powerful and is a city that everyone from every direction longs for. Therefore, Dayong founded the Sifang Pavilion as a distinct organization to oversee merchants and manage international affairs.
At the entrance to Changle City in Dayong, Yuan Mo, an external employee of the Sifang Pavilion, provided merchants with the option of stamping and signing customs clearance papers on behalf of the Sifang Pavilion at the gate and billed fees in the process.
An entrepreneur from Yanle, Kudile, smuggled weapons from the city, and was found by Wang Kunwu who was who was the newly appointed Sifang Pavilion guardian. Wang Kunwu tracked Kudile to the mountain temple however he did not realize it was possible that Yuan Mo and the “little beggar” Ashu were waiting for quite many years.
They both were able to help Wang Kunwu take down Kudile However, Wang Kunwu was mistakenly believed by Yuchi Hua the military official of Jingzhao Prefecture, to have collaborated to Kudile and was later reprimanded by Yuchi Hua.
While the conflict that existed between Wang Kunwu and Yuchi Hua was over, Yuan Mo encountered a new problem. Just half the weapons stolen were recovered, and the rest of the weapons were found, they became the first priority.
In response to the demands of An Yuandao The Senior Minister at Honglu Temple, the Junior Minister of Honglu Temple, Yu Deshui who is the director of Sifang Hall, asked the East and West Halls of Sifang Hall to cooperate and assist Jingzhao Prefecture to retrieve the stolen weapons within three days. Yuan Mo, a non-staff member of Sifang Hall, was forced by A Shu to agree to assist A Shu obtain the household registration for Dayong.
