Drifting Away Synopsis and Plot Summary

in the fall of 2002 Peng Zhaolin, the captain of the Xuecheng criminal police, was notified of the news that a killing had occurred within a building used for residential purposes located in the downtown. After examining the site, police uncovered the identities of four suspects led by Deng Ligang who had fled to provinces in the other.

The police were able to track them down in different provincial areas, and the band suddenly vanished. In the beginning of 2004 Peng Zhaolin was notified that an female high school student Zhen Zhen was kidnapped.

Zhen Zhen left her home due to a disagreement with her mother. She then travelled to the city in the south, Luancheng and was taken hostage. To Peng Zhaolin’s shock the kidnappers of Zhen Zhen turned out to be members of the Deng Ligang gang who was in hiding for quite a while.

The Xuecheng police rushed right to Luancheng and successfully saved Zhen Zhen, but the Deng Ligang gang managed to escape cleverly. It was the cold winter in 2011 Peng Zhaolin uncovered clues suggesting to suggest that Deng Ligang’s brother was receiving health treatment at Xuecheng.

He scoured the evidence and found out that Deng Ligang and his gang changed their names and were hiding in the northwestern city of Suilu. With the help of local police officers, the Syracuse Police deployed tight surveillance and were able to bring Deng Ligang along with his band members to justice.
